Pawsitively Patchez

Visiting the Disneyland Resort

Hello everyone! Bear hugs to y’all ( I learned that word in Texas) !

First of all, let me say, I am beary sorry for not writing sooner, my itiner-bear-y has been paws-itively stuffed!

The last time I wrote about about my journey from Houston, Texas to the Disneyland Resort in California. I was going to meet up with my cousin Peachez who was there with Becky and some other family to have a little vacation. I arrived early so I waited in my box at the Bell Desk for a little while but I was happy because I knew Becky was coming to pick me up soon. Lots of toys spend some time at the Bell Desk while they are waiting for their people to pick them up. Most of them were beary happy about being adopted from the stores at Disneyland and excited to be heading to their new homes all over the world. One Princess doll was moving to Texas so I told her all I knew about living there. Another toy was moving to Paris, France! He said I could come visit him there once he was settled. Wouldn’t that be exciting!!??

After Becky checked into the hotel, she came to the Bell Desk and picked me up. We went up to the concierge lounge to meet up with the others and go though all the gifts that Jenny had sent along with me for them. Then it was time to go play in the parks!!!

This trip was very exciting because a new land has opened at California Adventure park!  CARS LAND!!! We all agreed that the Radiator Springs Racers is our new favorite ride!

We also went on all my favorite rides in the Disneyland park. Remeber the Buzz Lightyear suit Jenny bought me? Having an extra, built-in laser beam really came in handy when we went on Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blaster’s ride!  I even beat Becky’s score this time!!! It is beary important to always dress appropriately.

The weather was very warm so we didn’t mind getting wet on the water rides. Here is a picture of us screamin’ down Splash Mountain!

After a fun day in the parks, it’s always fun to browse around the shops of Downtown Disney. Here is a shot of Becky and the cousins in front of my favourite Build-a-Bear store in the WHOLE WORLD!!!

The Build-a-Bear store where I was built!

This is the very store where I met Jenny, Maggie, and Becky. When they asked me if I wanted to travel with them, of course I said “YES!” so they picked me up, got me some cool clothes and just the right amount of stuffing. I’ve been traveling with them (or back and forth between them) ever since! I can bearly believe that it was almost six years ago. Time flies when you do too!

One of the highlights of this trip was seeing my old pal Mickey Mouse! Even though he’s the head cheese, he always made time for us little guys at the Downtown Disney Build-a-Bear. It was great to see him again! When I showed this picture to my field mouse friend, Annon E. Mouse, here in BC, he made me promise to get Mickey’s autograph for him next time. Don’t let me forget!

With The Mouse himself!

All in all it was a beary successful trip! Now I am back in BC, Canada. On the plane trip north we saw some beautiful mountain scenery.

I love the chilly fall and winter here in BC and I’m happy to be here with Maggie and Bobbin stayin’ cozy inside. Becky and I are already making plans for another trip to Disneyland in January. I can’t reveal the details (some of it’s a surprise), but from what we’ve talked about so far, it’s going to be the best one yet!!!

That’s all fur now!  Happy Travels!

The Fun is in the Journey

Well, I think I made it to Disneyland but I’ve run into a snag. Since Rebecca isn’t here yet they’ve left me with the bell hop and said I can’t get out of the box yet. I’m so disappointed because I just can’t figure out how they are getting a bell to hop without making a ringing noise.  This curious bear wants to know!

My trip from Houston Texas to Los angeles California went relatively well. I am sure glad I am wearing my Buzz Lightyear suit. I even had time to figure out how to use all the nifty gadgets on the suit.

Patchez is all packed for his trip to Disneyland.

Which brings me to the topic of my first little hiccup on the trip.  It may be wise for anyone who decides to wear such said outfit to learn how to engage turbo thrusters before you are put into a little box, Rebecca may have to do some refluffing on my feet before I go see Mickey Mouse.

And that laser shooter is no kiddy toy I tell you! I may have made a little bit of a mess in the box here :(.

My favorite gadget on my space suit was the radio, I met this nice tech support mouse that was being shipped back to Seattle. He taught me how to upgrade the suit’s onboard computer. So now I also have email and eight foreign language stations.

I was also getting messages from this robot guy that got sent to mars, I hope he had a better box than I did for traveling in, that would be a long trip.  The robot said he is on a photo shoot so I asked him who his make up artist was and he said he does not need one since he has not found any life on Mars yet.  I scanned one of Rebecca’s business cards and forwarded it to him.  He told me if he finds life on mars he will get Rebecca up there for the makeup.  So Rebecca if you get an email from Curiosity, you will know what that’s all about.

At one point I was awoken feeling like I was spinning, well I was, some parcel guy was throwing my box up and down like  it was a ball. He said he was practicing his “tech – a- neeka.” I kindly asked him to refrain from such behavior with the box, someone may get hurt, my little home stopped suddenly and I could hear the same voice but it sounded scared and was speaking a foreign language but I think he started to have a serious conversation with some one named Ol’lord.

I am so excited to see my cousin Peachez and to give her the present Jennifer and Bob and I chose for her. I hope it was packed well in its little box with me because I’ve been doing a lot of experimenting with the suit and who knows what’s happened around me.

Rebecca will be here in the morning and I am so excited to see her.  I wonder if she will be surprised to see what this space suit can and has done 🙂

Signing off now, To Infurity and Beyond

I’m Going To Disneyland

It was a bittersweet day as Jenny helped me pack for the trip to Disneyland. I’m so excited to go back to my home but I will miss Jenny, Bob, Max and Rand here in Texas. Along with all the pies and cookies (yum!)

Jenny got me all snug as a bug with my new traveling clothes and all my treasures that I’ll be taking with me.

Patchez is all packed for his trip to Disneyland.

Of course, it is always nice to have a letter of introduction when you show up in a new place. So I thought I’d share a copy of the letter I wrote Becky and packed with me.

Sep, 2012

Dear Becky,

Jenny might be a welcome host, but I am so glad to be out of that heat! Before you unpack anything else, could you please check my fur for any singe spots? I really do think I might have burnt a little sitting in the sun

I went shopping last week and picked out the perfect travel outfit. What do you think of my Buzz Lightyear look?? Jenny would really like it if you took me on the Buzz Lightyear ride and emailed her my scores. I’m sure that with the right outfit I’ll blast those aliens to Infinity and Beyond!

I have a little luggage with me and I was hoping you could help me distribute it. Inside the hat box (you can tell it is special because it is wrapped up in the most beautiful pink duct tape) is a gift for my favourite cousin Peachez.

They seemed to eat a lot of beef and pork down in Houston. Jenny told me I couldn’t bring an actual cow and pig to give to the Jarman’s. So, I found the shape makers in the bag for them. It lets you turn any kind of food you want into a pig or a cow!!!

Inside the bag is also a magazine for Maggie. Every page looked like it had little nibbles she might enjoy. Could you please ask her to cook some for me??

There is a special envelope for you with a very special 5 inside it. I made sure it is the ‘real’ 5s that come from the government and that you can trade for stuff. I would like you to trade this 5 for a delicious cookie and eat it with me while we lounge by the pool at the Disneyland Hotel. Although if you could help me get into some cooler clothes before we do that, I would really appreciate it.

– Patchez

After we had checked everything was in place, Jenny took me to the UPS store and now I’m on my way! I can’t wait to get to Disneyland and find out what new adventures I’ll have there!

All packed and ready to go

– Patchez
